A cotton label should mean the fibre is cotton. How it feels still depends on weave, weight, and finish.

Fibre vs finish

100% cotton can be crisp poplin, soft voile, or a heavier twill. The percentage does not tell you thickness. Touch the fabric or read the product description for “double cloth” or similar.

Why it breathes

Cotton absorbs moisture and lets air through. Blends with polyester dry faster but trap heat. For all-day bottoms in India, cotton-first is the more comfortable default.

Shrinkage

Expect a little change after the first wash if you use hot water. Buy the length you need and wash cold to keep it.
